Although Mexico's top FMX athlete received his first chance to compete at the Red Bull X-Fighters in his native Mexico City way back in 2005, he certainly didn't benefit from any of the famous beginner's luck. While practicing for the event, Johan Nungaray broke his wrist - and probably also a little piece of his heart - and had to pull out. Not to be deterred, he returned a year later and fought even more courageously to win the hearts of his fellow countrymen.

A Can Can to Can Can Lander, a Lazy boy, a Superman Indian - Nunguray did one trick after another in 2006, earning himself not only the respect of his rivals but also another invitation to the Red Bull X-Fighters 2007.

Today, his goals are to become one of the top ten FMX riders at international level and to be a sponsored Red Bull athlete. He gets his nickname, El Gato Volador (The Flying Cat), from the equally named song which is played every time he makes an appearance. As he returns to Mexico City in 2010, the FMX hotshot will certainly be looking to set the cat among the pigeons.
