JP: What's the funniest nickname you've ever heard someone call you?
JH: My girlfriend calls me some funny names but you probably shouldn't know about that...

JP: What (board) did you ride your very first time in the water?
JH: †The Jolly Green Giant.

JP: What are you riding now?
JH: I got a nice†6'2'' rounded pin†whip thats my go to right now. Its Shaped by George Gall, the†rocket scientist at plus one surfboards. I like!

JP: If you couldn't be a surfer, what would you want to be?
JH: Uhhh?.. An record Exec. at Island/Def Jam.

JP: Would you rather have a maid or a personal chef?
JH: Chef, Anytime.

JP: How many hours a week do you train/work out?
JH: Sheez, lets say 2 hrs surfing, maybe an hour of skating thrown in,†I might go to the gym for a while but that probably wont happen so lets say 3.356 a day x 7 would be 23.492†hrs.†a week.

JP: What's your all-time favorite candy?
JH: I'm a member of the taste bud club, Jelly Bellys.

JP: Describe your ideal surfing spot?
JH: A Left, with a right too. You Can get a good long†cover up right off the drop, Goes into a Lowers like wall, with that perfect air section on the inside to top it all off.

JP: If you could "beam" yourself & 5 friends anywhere in the world right this minute, what destination would you pick?
JH: Some huge yacht in Indo and just ball till we fall.

JP: What's your new favorite word or saying (right now)?
JH: 2007 son. Do Work!

JP: Whats the last show you saw?
JH: I just saw Brand New at Soma. Then†I went to Vegas and saw Blue Man Group, it got weird.

JP: What's your "hands down favorite" Jet Pilot product?
JH: Maybe its the 2/2 transition, that thing is so light and warm..but the ride shorts for the summer are key.

JP: What's your "lucky charm" or lucky ritual you do before you compete?†
JH: Its not lucky, but I get in my head and just pretend that im not in the contest and go try and surf, Im not gonna paddle battle some guy for a 1 foot dribbler at d-street and do 5-6 turns that look wack†so I lose, but†I have enough plastic trophys in a box somewhere and better†things todo with my time then†get sunburned surfing that crap all day.†

JP: How many house plants did you kill in the past year?
JH: They grew!

JP: Name one of your heroes:
JH:†The ladies in my life. My mom,Sister and Girlfriend, they are my heros at the moment. Then you know theres Parko, I couldn't not say Parko.


OTHER STUFF:
If we had to describe J-hay in one word, we would say "Lucky." He lives in North San Diego County (with his best friend since Kindergarden), he's got a hot girlfriend and a house in Mexico @ a firing beachie. He's a "dent" at Cal-State San Marcos, where he puts the "stud" in study. If you have ever been surfing and wondered if it was better somewhere else/less crowed, Justin is probably surfing there. He's got "connects" from O.B. to Santa Barbra, and since the hommies are always blowing up his phone, he can be seen at the most uncrowed and sometimes best spots on the California coast. When this kid's not in the water, he's helping some of San Diego's Big Biz exec's spend their advertising budget at the Ad Group. So, not only does he have luck, this kid's a straight-up hustla from the streets of O.B. to N.C., and not afraid to put in his work so he can graduate from the Game.
