  • Shut the Rumor Mill! Keith Lyman Signs With SlingShot Boards

Slingshot Sports, first in flex worldwide, is proud to announce we have signed Keith Lyman to a sponsorship agreement. He has instantly become an important anchor point to an already strong group of riders on our 2011 Global Wake Team. Our support for Lyman will continue indefinitely.

Even as a veteran pro of 11 years, Lyman is known for "huge air" off the wake and taking his riding to the extreme. His "badass" attitude and energy are very apparent in his style, and he sits among the elite when it comes to his professionalism as an athlete. Keith summed up his reasons for joining Slingshot with us as he signed his contract. "I am extremely excited to be working with Slingshot! I think with what you bring to the table in the way of concepts and technology, and what I bring to the table with my riding style and experience, we can produce the worlds 'next level' big wake riding board. I truly believe in what Slingshot stands for and am a HUGE supporter of an American based company building their product in America!"

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Lyman now resides in Orlando, Florida where he's currently shredding his massive wake on the 2011 Slingshot Hooke from the all-new Ballistic Board Line. Wade Wagley, our Wake Brand Manager, is confident Keith is the perfect fit. "Ever since Keith took the win at Blacktop Oasis 2.0, I've known he would be a perfect fit for Slingshot Wake. The way he boosts off the wake and charges rails is exactly why our boards are designed and built the way they are. I greatly appreciate Keith's professional attitude and energy, and have truly enjoyed getting to know him better over this last year. Now I can't wait to see what we'll come up with for his new 'Lyman Board!'" Welcome to the family, Keith!

Stay tuned. There's more excitement coming from Slingshot soon...

  • Wake Park Triple Crown at KC Watersports this Weekend

The Monster Energy WWA Wake Park Triple Crown hits KC Watersports this weekend! As the 2nd stop of the series, this is going to be a killer event at KC with lots of riding from the likes of Nick Davies, Tom Fooshee, Lior Sofer, Bob Soven, Shane Bonifay, Jim LaRiche, Kyle Hyams, Aaron Rathy, Keith Lyman and Kevin Henshaw.

Needless to say, with all the heavy hitters going to KC this weekend there is going to be some unreal riding going down. Probably one of the most anticipated parts of the event will be the Ten-80 Obstacles-Only division. With a healthy mixture of the best cable and boat riders it's going to be rad to watch them on the water at the same time hitting the rails and kickers.

A big thanks to Monster Energy Drink, Ten-80, Liquid Force, Ronix, Slingshot, Oakley, Pro-Tec, Alliance Wakeboard Magazine and KC Watersports for making this event happen.

The format of the Pro and Open divisions will consist of one and a quarter laps around the cable, with riders getting a Monster Energy Trick at the end of their runs in the Finals. During the Ten-80 Obstacles Only divisions it will be a timed jam format that allows multiple riders to go out on the cable at once and go trick for trick on the rails and kickers.

If you're coming out to watch the competition you don't have to stay dry all day. The general public can actually go and ride all weekend long during the event. KC Watersports is offering a two-day event pass for $50 for the general public. During the day there will be designated time slots to demo different products from all of the event sponsors, and the cable opens right after the contest is over until 8pm. Come out and ride with all the top pros!

All riders will be required to have a Coast Guard Approved vest if they plan on riding during the public sessions throughout the weekend.

Registration for the 2nd stop of the Triple Crown is now open. Please fill out the Triple Crown Stop #2 Registration Form and submit it to the WWA at EventOrganizer@thewwa.com.

You will receive a confirmation email once you have registered. Please print this out and bring it with you to the event.
