    BIO

The Hawaiian power surfer and 2006 ASP World Junior Champion continued to show that he's one of the world's finest surfing talents when he stood atop the bevy of rookie talent to clinch the 2009 Rookie of the Year award. In what takes many competitors several years to achieve, Bacalso qualified for the ASP World Tour after only two years on the ASP WQS, proving he is no ordinary talent. Now the Oahu native is emerging as one of the finest surfers to hail from the talent-laden Hawaiian Island chain as he stands tall amongst the elite.

The stocky Hawaiian was born and bred on Oahu's packed list of famous breaks and the mass of quality surf surrounding his home town has aided him in building the ability to smash competitors in all conditions from barrels, to points, to beachies. After establishing himself as a serious competitor on the 2009 ASP World Tour 'Bam' will combine the priceless experience earned from 2009 to be that much more of a threat in 2010.
