  • About

A five-time X Games athlete, Koji is one of the most talented young riders today and even though he is only qualified for Vert, he can hold his own on the park course too, one of the few riders who has landed a double backflip multiple times. On the vert ramp Koji is often compared to Mat Hoffman because of his amazingly complex variations at height, often doing three or four variations in one air.

Koji is one of the most talented young riders today and even though he is only qualified for Vert, he can hold his own on the Park course too and is the current mini ramp '05 World Champion. One of the few riders who has landed a double backflip multiple times on a park course. On the vert ramp Koji is often compared to Mat Hoffman because of his amazingly complex variations at height. His new trick is the double tailwhip to x-up, and he's itching to pull it out at X.

At 21 years old, Koji has one of the most distinct styles in Vert today. His high airs and clean execution of double tailwhips and clicked look backs makes Koji's style stand out in a stacked Vert crowd. Koji learned how to ride Vert in Chicago, IL from veteran vert rider Jimmy Walker at SCRAP skatepark and still does shows with Jimmy to this day.

In the beginning of the 2000 season, Koji was virtually unknown outside of his hometown of Addison, Illinois. Since turning heads at the 2000 Nashville X Trials in his first ever Pro contest, Koji has been a very busy kid. Since that first pro comp, Koji has been competing and touring for Schwinn, been invited to the 2000 and 2001 Gravity Games, and featured in 2001 on the last leg of the Mirra Tour alongside veterans such as Dave Mirra and Dennis McCoy.
