One of the Last Frends Standing
After becoming the youngest member to join the US Snowboard Team at just 12 years old, Luke Mitrani has continued to progress and impress the snowboarding world and his fans. He grew up in Stratton, Vermont where he was quickly picked up in to the Burton family. Luke traded the east coast mountains for Mammoth Lakes, CA and continues to slay that mountain one day at a time.
The youngest member of the Frends crew, he is now one of the only few riders of that group to be competing for a spot on the US Winter Olympic team after a few devastating injuries during this Olympic qualifying time. Kevin Pearce experienced a critical head injury while training in Utah and remains in critical condition but is thankfully improving each day. Most recently, Danny Davis, the most promising rider so far with mind blowing pipe runs, injured his back in an ATV accident and is out for the 2010 season.
The universe keeps throwing curve balls so there is a huge chance we may be seeing Luke Mitrani gunning for a spot on that Olympic team.
