The "Prince" of the North Shore. Makua is Hawaiian surfing royalty, his father, Eddie, started the legendary Da Hui. Just the name itself strikes fear into the hearts of traveling surfers from around the world. They, Da Hui, run the whole program. They get the waves they want, the girls they want, and if they want you to leave, you're gone!Makua has not only grown up on the North Shore, he has grown up able to get any wave he wants on the "Seven Mile Miracle." He charges the biggest waves and goes where he wants. A few years back, he won the XXL Award for "Biggest Wave of the Year" (66 ft.) and $66,000.Since then he has been charging big waves at Pipe/Backdoor, the Outer Reefs, and wherever else he feels like surfing. Makua is out of his father's shadow making a name for himself in surfing.
