A Supercross racer by trade, Burkhart discovered Supermoto in 2003 after injuries -- particularly simultaneous ACL surgeries in 2002 -- derailed his Supercross career. Finished a solid 6th in '04 AMA Supermoto points. That led to a factory ride with Yamaha for '05, but he has to ride in the undercard 250cc, or quot;Lites,quot; class. He's the only Lites rider to receive an XG '05 invite.

Mark Burkhart has won numerous supermoto championships including the 2009 X Games Silver, 2008 Navy Moto X Games World Championships Gold, the 2007 X Games Gold, 2007 AMA Supermoto Championship, 2006 X Games Silver and 2005 AMA Supermoto Lites Championship.
