This Swede has strung his career together with a series of injuries. He's a technical skater who has spent ten years placing in and out of the top 10 vert skaters in the world. Since seeing Mathias the last time at the 2004 X Games when he finished 7th in Vert, he started a company in the U.S. that produces and distributes a Swedish game called Pentago, winner of the Game of the Year Award in 2005.

An X Games staple, Mathias rightly holds a spot among the top 10 vert skaters in the world invited to XG 2004. This speaks to his longevity in the sport and his ability to pull tricks that others don't. Adding another to his long list of injuries, at the Canadian Open (2003), he almost lost his life slamming hard and puncturing his lung. The injury required surgery and two weeks hopitalization. Though he only started skating again in the spring of '04, he is back to full form.
