After Spain got its first indoor Vert ramp in 2003, Nel's skating shot through the roof. He picked up a new selection of airs, including the double backflip, to match his already powerful vocabulary of lip tricks. In 2004, Nel has been doing a lot of vert demos, honing his skills in a performance environment. He had a taste of the podium in 2003 (bronze). He wants it again in 2004.

Nel has one of the smoothest styles on the vert ramp. Representing Spain, he qualified for the X Games with his 4th place finished at the ASA event in Rome in July 2001. This will be Nel's second X Games.
