Biography

The first skater to repeat gold in XG Street, Paul returns in 2006 with the chance to three-peat. P Rod is big business, the first skater to earn a sponsorship through Nike, for which he was called a sellout within the industry. He is well respected, however, for his technical mastery on a skateboard. The son of famous actor/comedian Paul Rodriguez, P Rod straddles the line of core skater and Hollywood star, producing his own skate video (The Forecast, 2005), and acting in two independent films (due out 2007).

P-Rod is big business, with Mountain Dew cases stacked in his garage and the first Nike pro model skateshoe with his name on it. A pro for three years, his short career has soared, but it has also been plagued with misunderstandings. He was called a sellout after taking the Nike contract, yet he's well respected for his technical mastery on his skateboard and has been called quot;one of those rare few [who] was born to skatequot;. The returning XG 2004 gold medalist is the son of the famous comedian, Paul Rodriguez.

P Rod is now mainstream, making the biggest news in the industry when he hooked up with Nike in January 2004. He won the bronze medal in X Games Street in his first appearance (2003) and is now on the track to video stardom. His part in the Girl Yeah Right! helped the video win TWS Best Video 2004.
