Peter is a big, powerful surfer who thrives in bigger waves. He surfs some WQS and every once in a while he will get invited to a WCT event, like he did in 2005 at the Globe WCT held on the island of Tavarua in Fiji. He finished 17th in that event, falling to former World Champion Andy Irons, but not until after he scored a perfect 10 in one wave ride. Mendia has made a total of 3 X Games appearances, and two times he has walked away with gold.

Consistently ranked one of the top freeriders in the world Peter Mendia earned a wildcard entry into the Globe WCT held in 2005 on the island of Tavarua in Fiji.
