Rick Thorne is an old school rider, or mid school. In other words he was hot in the 90s. Thorne is almost at the big four oh and has found himself doing more television and radio work than riding. He still rides and still sports the all black Dickies and Famous apparel as he always did before. Rick Thorne used to commentate for a lot of BMX contests and such. Being that he is the nicest guy in BMX and devotes his life to the sport practically, he made one hell of an announcer.Being good friends with Mat Hoffman and Tony Hawk and all the action sports dudes, Rick would often go on skatepark tours and stuff like that and do a little bit of riding, microphone work, hyping up the crowd. A lot of the younger BMX kids can't believe it but Rick used to pull backflip to fakies on quarterpipes like they were a signature trick. People today don't even like doing that trick because landing fakie after being upside down is a whole lot of awkward in one trick. He is the friendliest BMX rider even though he has tattoos from his neck down and only owns things that are all black. Literally.
