  • Vein BMX Introduces Slew of New Brands

A new BMX mail order site, Vein BMX, has opened up shop and is slinging a variety of new parts from a variety of new brands, including Karl Poynter's new parts sponsor Ezra. Along with Ezra, Guerra BMX is also being sold through Vein. Guerra recently picked up Rob Darden as well as Nick Anderson and Rick Scott. Vein will be selling product from Amber BMX as well, whom is more focused on complete bikes and small parts. To top it all off, Vein has added Alienation to the site and will be producing tools and miscellaneous parts under the Vein name. Quite a big start for a small start up.

  • ASA Big Air Triples in Augusta, GA (June 19)

GRINDTV Newswire - via ASA Entertainment (April 19, 2010): For the first time ever, the Augusta Entertainment Complex will play host to the world's top action sports athletes when the ASA Big Air Triples (Triples) heads to the James Brown Arena on Saturday, June 19th. During two shows, top pros in BMX and Skateboard will take on the challenge of the 195-foot long Triples course, consisting of a 25-foot high roll-in ramp, two 25-foot wide jumps and a course-ending quarter-pipe, all while grabbing "big air" to perform their flips, whips, flairs and spins for the event titles.

Previous ASA Big Air Triples events have included the talents of 2009 X Games gold medalist and recent BMX Triples event champion Scotty Cranmer (Howell, New Jersey); two-time, 2009 BMX Triples event champion Ryan Guettler (Queensland, Australia); and 2008 BMX Triples event champion Rob Darden (Greenville, North Carolina); in addition to X Games medalists Ryan Nyquist (Los Gatos, California) and Daniel Dhers (Caracas, Venezuela). The competition's head-to-head format stretches the athletic limits of these competitors and brings the fans to the edge of their seats in anticipation of the outcome.

Skateboard is a newly added feature to the Triples event. Some of the industry's most daring skateboarding pros will ride the ramps, challenging each other to perform their most spectacular stunts in pursuit of the Best Trick title.

  • ASA BMX Triples

It is safe to say that this will be the biggest ASA BMX Triples event ever and it is so because of a deep list of riders. This event, happening at Northern Illinois University, will host nearly ever top rider in BMX such as Daniel Dhers, Scotty Cranmer, Brett Banana Sandwich, Ryan Guettler, Rob Darden, Ryan Nyquist, Austin Coleman, Craig Mast, Zack Warden, Brandon Dosch, Colton Satterfield, and Koji Kraft. Dude...

Well, when it comes to these big contests I suppose what you want are some predictions and insight into what these riders will produce. SO. Daniel Dhers has been sort of sleeping lately and maybe working on things at Woodward and coming out huge. However, Brett Banana Sandwich (screw his last name) put on a show at Simpel Session that is only a testament to wins in his future. But he can't even drive yet or something. He's in high school. The big guys in this contest have what it takes to intimidate a rookie like Brett. Guettler and Darden and Nyquist can always take events if they really feel like going big.

And the younger dudes from dirt like Dosch and Coleman are solid as well but can they come close to the high-end trickery of Dhers and Brett? I dunno. So first place goes to Daniel Dhers for pulling off some new trick never thought of before or something, second goes to Brett for a myriad of frontflips and flip whips and 720 whips. Third place goes to Scotty Cranmer or Ryan Guettler because they're similarly good and they will be battling for that podium spot.
