  • Levi LaVallee shot at redemption on New Year's Eve in San Diego

Second chances don't happen everyday but Levi LaVallee will get his shot at redemption on New Year's Eve in San Diego when he attempts to break his own world record jumping his snowmobile 361ft over the San Diego Harbor.

The mental hurtle LaVallee must get past may prove more difficult than the jump itself. He's only one year removed from critically injuring himself attempting to break the same record. The night to which LaVallee was to make his leap into stardom on National Television didn't pan out as he had to settle for the world record in practice. That is until this year when LaVallee gets a second opportunity.

"I am so pumped to be able to come back to Red Bull: New Year. No Limits.," said LaVallee. "Last year obviously didn't go the way I was hoping, and I am excited to have another chance at this amazing opportunity."

This time he'll be joined by Robbie Maddison, a two-time alumni of Red Bull New Year. No Limits. Maddo will be looking to jump his bike more than 400 feet to eclipse the current record of 391 feet.

"Jumping long distances is a passion of mine, and I'm excited to come back for New Years Eve and sail over San Diego Harbor," said Maddison. "400 feet is my goal. It's not all about getting the world record to me, it's more about understanding this feat and the commitment ahead to achieving what most would consider an impossible jump."

Maddo kick-started No Limits in 2007 by jumping his motorcycle 322 feet over a football field in Las Vegas and followed it up in 2008 by jumping onto - and off - the 96-foot-tall Arc De Triomphe at Paris Las Vegas.

The event will air live from San Diego, Calif., on Saturday, December 31 at approximately 11 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. PT on ESPN.

  • X Fighters heads to Sydney with the championship on the line

On September 17th, Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour will host the 2011 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour last event. For the first time in the tour's history, an event will go down on Australian soil.

It's the sixth and final stop for the series that will see Aussie Robbie Maddison & eleven other riders, battle it out for the title on Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour.

It's about time a major freestyle motocross tour made its way to the land down under as several successful freestyle motocross riders hail from Australia. The sports popularity among the people is massive, just look at the turns out for the various freestyle demos like Crusty Demons and Nitro Circus.

The location of the event is special to Australian history as the Island was recently added to the World Heritage List as part of 11 convict sites. Unique remnants of the island's history scatter its 18 hectares, including solitary prison cells, hand carved grain silos, a military guardhouse and convict workshops. The island was also an industrial school, a reformatory and one of Australia's biggest shipyards.

This time around the island will be taken over by a different form of hooligans.

American Nate Adams is in the driver seat for his third consecutive X Fighters championship as he sits a top the leader board ahead of Spain's Dany Torres and Norway's Andre Villa. Realistically Adams only needs a solid showing in Sydney to win the title, but knowing his style Adams will be going for broke to put on a show for the crowd.

    2011 Standings
    1. Nate Adams USA 365
    2. Dany Torres ESP 325
    3. Andre Villa NOR 270

  • DC Moto Family Gathering

You know that one time of year when your whole family gets together, your parents, all your brothers, your sisters, the cousins, the aunts and uncles, the in-laws, the whole big family.

Well that was December 7th for the DC Moto team. It's designed to be the one time of year when all their team gets together at the DC Moto Training Facility at Pala Raceway to ride, shoot photos, and talk with the media culminating in a Poker Night benefiting the Road to Recovery Foundation. The non profit organization is founded by action sports agent and former pro motocross/ DC athlete Jimmy Button, dedicated to helping motocross and Supercross athletes who have been injured.

The whole team was out at the Track including hall of fame inductee Jeremy McGrath, Travis Pastrana, Robbie Maddison, newly named rider of the year Nate Adams, Josh Hill, and more. One rider was noticeably late to the party. Maybe DC leading lady Jolene Van Vugt was too busy working out? No actually she was stuck in travel hell. Her flight from Canada was canceled, so she took a 4 hour bus ride in the middle of the night to Detroit, hoped on a plane which had to land due to an emergency on the plane. She eventually made her way to the track to deliver on her responsibilities. So not only is she ridiculously fit, she's extremely determined.

Check back for video from DC Ride day as well as exclusive interviews with Pastrana, McGrath, and Adams on the long lasting effects of injuries in motocross.

  • X Fighters Storms the Legendary Battersea Power Station

GRINDTV NEWSWIRE via Red Bull X Fighters- One year ago London cheered on the best freestyle motocross riders in the world as the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour hit British soil for the first time in its history. This year sees the Red Bull X-Fighters return once again to the legendary Battersea Power Station on the banks of the River Thames to take things to the next level. After four stops of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 no fewer than six riders are in with a chance of claiming the overall title.

Back in 2009 it was America's Nate Adams who did his bit for the famous transatlantic special relationship by winning the event in London to secure the overall title on the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2009. Twelve months later Adams is again one of the favorites to take victory in the former coal power station in the south of London, but the man from Arizona has not been able to win any of this season's four stops in Mexico, Egypt, Russia and Spain and, as reigning champion, is under pressure to step it up in the British capital. Among his main rivals will be the winner of the classic event in Madrid's Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, Robbie Maddison. The Australian, who holds a host of world records and even jumped over the iconic LondonTower Bridge in 2009, will be looking to continue his good form to topple long-standing leader Andrè Villa (NOR) from the top of the standings and claim his first ever Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour title.

In 2009 the Red Bull X-Fighters rocked the enormous disused power station to the south of the Thames, but this year the circus heads to the north side of the building to offer riders and fans alike more space. Joining the world FMX elite once again will be local hero Chris Birch (GBR). Since competing in the 2009 event, the Briton has left his base in Belgium for the sunnier climes of Spain, where he has been training with current overall points leader Andrè Villa and the legendary Pagès brothers.

The third-largest plant of its kind in Britain, Battersea Power Station played a key role in supplying several generations of Londoners with electricity from 1933 right through to 1989. Indeed, the towering110-metre towers of the red brick building are today still among themost iconic landmarks of the British capital city. Since its closure as a power plant at the end of the 1980s, Battersea Power Station has played host to exhibitions, events, concerts ... and the Red Bull X-Fighters!

Going into the fifth stop of the season, the situation at the top of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 is incredibly close, with four different riders having claimed victory at the four events of the season in Mexico City (MEX), Giza (EGY), Moscow (RUS) and Madrid (ESP).In London any one of the top six riders could take a huge step towards securing the 2010 overall title.

  • Metal Mulisha Dominates X Games 16

GrindTV Newswire, Via Metal Mulisha: Irvine, Calif. (August 2, 2010) - X Games fans witnessed another impressive crusade from Metal Mulisha at the Staples Center and LA Coliseum this past weekend, as the team took home three gold medals and ten overall in six different events, including Mulisha's first-ever medals in Rally racing.

Josh Grant kicked off the weekend by earning gold in Super X at the LA Coliseum, redeeming himself after an accident during last year's X Games Super X competition that broke both his feet. The medal was Grant's first X Games gold and second overall for the 24-year-old from Riverside, Calif.

Moto X Best Trick went to Cam Sinclair, which capped off an amazing comeback for the Australian rider, who suffered a horrific crash only one year ago. Sinclair won gold with a double backflip, garnering an overall score of 94.33 and a huge roar from the Staples Center crowd. Sinclair shared the medal podium with his Mulisha Family teammate Robbie Madison, who landed the first-ever body viral-to-side-saddle lander, which earned him a silver medal, and Taka Higashino, who took the bronze with a backflip double grand Indian air.
