    BIO

The hard-charging Hawaiian from Kauai, Hawaii grew up surfing alongside some of the world's best surfers including three-time ASP World Champion Andy Irons and brother Bruce and is no stranger to surfing with an elite crop of talent. Beginning his ASP World Tour campaign in 2006, Powers has always done what it takes to find his way back on to the ASP World Tour and 2009 was no different.

The regular-footed powerhouse is no stranger to heavy surf and puts some serious time in on Oahu's North Shore when he's not traveling on Tour or ripping at his home break of Pine Trees with the rest of Kauai's top talents. Although Powers has yet to find himself within the top half of the ASP World Tour rankings, the hard-working Hawaiian's four years of competitive experience could go a long way in 2010.
