East London¡¦s Royden Bryson had a meteoric season on last season¡¦s ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS). After building a steady momentum throughout the year, the progressive goofy footer tore the bag out of the WQS six star Yumeya Tahara Pro presented by Billabong in Japan, walking away with the event win and a solid footing in the ratings. Although relatively unknown on the international stage, Bryson¡¦s development in South Africa¡¦s fertile wave grounds has turned him into a world class surfer and his competitive savvy will only mature as the season continues. With guidance from veteran South Africans Greg Emslie and Travis Logie, as well as support from compatriot rookie Ricky Basnett, the sky is the limit for South Africa and Bryson will be right in the thick of it.
