Ryan Nyquist is one of the original Greenville, NC professional BMX riders. Originally from San Jose, CA, however, he has been seen more often back in Northern California and even more recently hosting a BMX contest (Warriors of Wood) for the local riders there.

His list of medals in the X Games and Dew Tour and Vans Triple Crown BMX events makes my computer slow down as it loads more and more information of 1st place finishes. BMX Plus! magazine even crowned him dirt jumper of the year last year (2008). He was freestyler of the year in 2007 with the same magazine.

In 2004, he was named the Action Sports Athlete of the Year at the ESPY awards. Now there's a title you can bring up at a wine and dine party. In 2003, he was the dirt jumper of the year at the NORA cup awards. Man, he just goes back and forth doesn't he?

Well he has had his hands at dirt jumping, park riding, vert, everything. That is the kind of rider he is. Most notably, he won the Red Bull Elevation contest in 2007. This is easily, hands down, no questions asked the best, biggest, most important dirt jumping contest ever put on and in 2007 he sat on the top podium.
