Born in the fast-paced culture of Southern California, Ryan Sheckler was noticed early as a sort of skate prodigy. He was skating and pushing himself before he even reached a two digit age and you can tell by the way he was skating when he was just a teenager. Even though he is still a teenager for a little longer at 19 years of age.Honing his skills on his backyard ramps, his father was behind him 100%. He was quickly exposed to the competitive skating scene and made his mark early, winning his first contest. He started skating professionally at 14 as he competed in X Games and other prestigious competitions.In 2004 and 2005, he was named the World Cup of Skateboarding's National Street Champion and also in 2005 was named Athlete of the Year from the Dew Tour.Video parts, photo shoots, contests, sponsors, this guy IS skateboarding.
