| CAPiTA's Defenders of Awesome: Scott Stevens & Dan Brisse full partsSure, snowboard movie season is over. It's been replaced by the season of absolutely zero snow and daily temperatures of 70 degrees. Due to this depressing fate of wint er so far, we regress to searching for a happier time of shred and have discovered CAPiTA releasing full part edits from their 2011 film "Defenders of Awesome". Thank the heavens. Now, if you haven't seen this movie in it's entirety then you most likely need to get your head checked. You should also stop reading and head to iTunes to get it. CAPiTA and their team killed it in every sense of the word last year which is why it is totally acceptable to repeatedly watch each part until it actually starts snowing somewhere. Shredders up for your viewing pleasure: Scott Stevens & Dan Brisse Real Snow riders announced for the second annual Winter X games video contestYeah, we can't even begin to think about the next Winter X Games either, however, we're being forced to. The second annual Real Snow all-urban video contest is returning in 2012 and the riders competing have been announced. With some returning snowboarders alongside fresh faces eager to get in on the action, this video contest adds a whole different side to the highly competitive X Games. 2011 marked the first year to include this competition and the first year to acknowledge street riding as part of the games. Along with the Real Snow video contest there is also a Real Snow rail jam held in Aspen and the setup we saw last year was a force to be reckoned with.Eight riders and eight 60-second edits attempting to capture the burliest, most technical, and stylish urban riding around make up this showdown. Returning riders Dan Brisse (who scored gold last year), Louis-Felix Paridis (silver), and Nic Sauve (bronze & Fan Favorite) will join urban riding beasts Halldor Helgason, Jed Anderson, Scott Stevens, Bode Merrill and Pat Moore. Nothing like a heavily stacked roster to get your blood pumping. Photo courtesy of SNOWBOARDER Mag, Huggy Up until Winter X 2012 (January 26-29), this group of rippers will be combing the streets in an attempt to find and drop in to a spot better and gnarlier than the next. ESPN's words below with all the details of voting:
Be sure and keep up with these videos as they drop. Until then, check out the contest teaser below: Channels: Snow Tranny Finders: Behind the Scenes videoVideos such as this don't come around every day. Or month...or year. SNOWBOARDER Mag's latest edit previewing their "Goods" section in the November issue is pure gold. Peter Line is the man behind the lens for this photoshoot as he snaps photos of pro riders Bode Merrill, Pat Moore, Johnnie Paxson, Darrell Mathes, and Scott Stevens donning women's outerwear, wigs, and hideous makeup. "Tranny Finders" is priceless, hilarious, and slightly disturbing. You'll never look at these guys the same way. To see them get in touch with their feminine side and show entirely too much skin, head to SNOWBOARDER to watch the full video. Volcom's Snow road-tested series: Minnesota episode 2Seth Huot, Scott Stevens, Dylan Alito, and Dan Brisse are still ripping apart Minnesota in episode two of Volcom's road-tested series snow edition. Yes, they are still bringing their crazy A-game as well until...uh, one of them eats it pretty bad. Stomach straight to chain link fences, tacoing over handrails, and front flipping over concrete ledges, it's all there don't you worry. Pretty sure they land some tricks too. Seriously though, the rail spots the guys are setting up at are insanely burly and innovative and we applaud them for what they pulled off in this edit. Minnesota's no joke. Time to get ready for their Canada trip, edit dropping October 31. First snow episode of Volcom's road-tested series: MinnesotaVolcom's road-tested series has broken into the snow world in the second season featuring a 2-part series with pro ripper Seth Huot debuting as a filmer, editor, and director. If that wasn't a long enough list for you, he's riding in the episodes as well. ![]() The first part creeps on Seth, Scott Stevens, Dylan Alito, and Dan Brisse in Minnesota as they hit up the urban scene in below zero temperatures. Don't worry, they still are rocking flannels. This first episode captures some fine Minnesota shredding and "lays the foundation" of what it's all about. Huot claims there are some twists and turns in part 2. Stay tuned for that - Episode 1 below: |
