  • Scotty Lago's Olympic Closing Ceremony

The smiling face of halfpipe bronze medalist Scotty Lago was noticeably missing from Sunday's Olympic Closing Ceremony.

After inappropriate photos of Lago and his medal surfaced on the internet during The Games U.S. officials apparently ordered Lago leave Vancouver early, putting an abrupt end to an Olympic experience that should have been his.

The entire saga surrounding these photos could have turned nasty, but the 22 year-old Olympian has been embracing the situation by meeting media to tell his side of the story.

Lago appeared on Jimmy Kimmel to tell his version of the incident and how his medal getting lucky, has actually been lucky for the young snowboarder.

Jimmy Kimmel sides with Lago and presents him with his very own send off. The celebration is hilarious- check it out below.

After watching the actual Closing Ceremony on Sunday, it's safe to say Kimmel's version was more entertaining anyway.

After all the action in LA, Scotty headed back to his hometown of Sea Brook, NH where he was greeted by a plethora of fans. The small northeastern community welcomed back their hero with open arms and even threw a parade for their favorite bronze medalist.

To top it all off, Scotty received a key to the city, which we are sure he will keep in a safe place.. right?
