A veteran of five WX's and two Winter Olympics, Shannon returns to WX '04 after a two year hiatus and the April 2003 birth of her son Logan. Accustomed to the podium (she has four WX medals and an Olympic bronze from '98) don't be surpised to see this new mom pulling out some progressive combinations at WX '03.
2001 was a great year for Shannon. Not only did she win gold in SuperPipe and placed second in Slopestyle at WX V, but she also place second in the Halfpipe at the U.S. Open in March 2001, backing up her 1998 Olympic bronze halfpipe medal. And it's no surprise since she has one of the best coaches around, her husband and professional do-it-all snowboarder, Dave Downing. She is also co-founder of Boarding for Breast Cancer with Tina Basich.
