  • Riders announced for Winter Dew Tour's Pantech Open in Killington, VT

The second stop of the Winter Dew Tour contest series will be taking over Killington, Vermont this week. World-class athletes will be competing in superpipe and slopestyle, eyeing the top spot on the podium.

Women's freeskiers will also make an appearance at this stop, where the leading ladies will have a chance to show what they're made of on the big screen.

It's going to be an action-packed event, so check out all the details from the Dew Tour below.

Dew Tour- Burr Ridge, Ill. - The Winter Dew Tour continues this weekend with its second stop of the season when the Pantech Invitational hits Killington, Vermont. The top athletes in snowboarding and freeskiing will descend on one of the East Coast's biggest resorts to battle it out for points toward the Dew Cup.

Louie Vito comes to Killington on the heels of a second place finish at the Winter Dew Tour's first stop in Breckenridge, Colorado. Eager to repeat his championship performance in the superpipe during the 2011 season, Vito will be aiming to redeem himself with the top spot in Vermont. The slopestyle course will be crowded with internationally recognized snowboarders, from triple-corking Canadian Mark McMorris to the Norwegian winner of the Nike Open, Gjermund Braaten, as well as a large group of American-bred riders fighting through the last chance qualifiers.

Competition in the men's freeski events will be sure to deliver excitement. After combating an injury in Breckenridge, Simon Dumont will take to the superpipe looking to dethrone reigning champ Kevin Rolland. Tom Wallisch will attempt to go two for two in Winter Dew Tour ski slopestyle wins this season, bringing huge air and smooth landings to a slopestyle run that is sure to defy the laws of physics. Last year's Killington winner Bobby Brown, along with Alex Schlopy and Nick Goepper, will be among the top skiers intending to push him off the podium.

The top names in women's freeskiing will have their Winter Dew Tour season debut at the Pantech Invitational with bigger stakes than in years past. For the first time in Dew Tour history, women freeskiers will compete towards a Dew Cup. Devin Logan, who took the freeski halfpipe world by storm in her breakout rookie year in 2011, will bring her signature style to Bear Mountain, while young up-and-comer Kaya Turski will be showing off on the slopestyle course. Several women with eyes on the 2014 Olympics are also headed to the Pantech Invitational, including Grete Eliassen, Brita Sigourney and Ashley Battersby.

In addition to action-packed competitions, the weekend will also include a Friday night VIP party at the Wobbly Barn, a well-known Killington watering hole. The night will feature a live DJ set from RAC, the Portland-based cutting edge duo of Andre Allen Anjos and Karl Kling, spinning original remixes and party favorites. Party entry will be $10 for those 21-and-over.

  • Powder Mag: Simon Dumont 'Tough to Balance Everything'

Apparently Simon Dumont is a super ski god. He's always on top of his game, he's not a bad-looking guy (okay he's a fox...yes, fox. The term is coming back), he's a member of the U.S. Freeskiing halfpipe team, he was documented slaying Red Bull's custom-built cubed halfpipe, and he's got a part in Poor Boyz Productions' latest film, "The Grand Bizarre." If that doesn't conjure up a ski god then we don't know what does.

Simon recently chatted with Powder Magazine about his overload of projects and how he handles all the madness.
Looks like he's got it all under control to us.

    By Will Eginton

At 25 years old, Simon Dumont has been on top of the professional field for the better half of a decade. As one of the faces of the newly-created U.S. Freeskiing halfpipe team, Dumont will soon be representing not only his sponsors but the US of A. And Dumont doesn't appear to be slowing down. With a custom-tailored "Cubed Pipe" at his disposal last winter and a segment in Poor Boyz Productions' upcoming film, The Grand Bizarre (film trailer above), Dumont remains a force to be reckoned with.

POWDER.COM: How much time did you spend filming with Poor Boyz this year?

SIMON DUMONT: This year was a little bit different than most years, because of all the contests. I was at Keystone for one day, and then I did the cubed shoot. I didn't shoot as much as I usually do.

Was the Keystone shoot park or pipe based? We shredded some park jumps, some rails, and some other stuff. I think it was a weeklong shoot, but I had just come back from a contest. I got one day in.

With the creation of the U.S. Freeskiing halfpipe team, will your time from now on be dedicated to competing and training for the Olympics? Well, no. There is still quite some time before the actual Olympics. Next year, I plan on really putting out a good segment. I want to focus on the slopestyle side of this a little bit more, just because once we do get closer to the Olympics, I'm going to be focusing on competing. Next year should be a good filming year for me.

  • Ping-pong with Simon Dumont and Eero Ettala

The long grueling battle between snowboarding and skiing continues. The latest rivalry ensuing over multiple, very serious, games of ping-pong.

Finnish rider Eero Ettala challenges pro double planker Simon Dumont to a paddle battle - providing much entertainment for the workers enjoying their lunch break. And let's be real here, ping pong tables should always be included in an office layout plan.

In between much shit-talking, the Red Bull team riders break a sweat over ping-pong, showing that they obviously don't need to be on the hill to get competitive.

So what do we think? Finland vs USA in a heated ping pong match? We're thinking that Simon is probably still high on life after killing it in his burly custom built 'cubed' halfpipe...

  • Simon Dumont seriously ups freeskiing ante with 'cubed' halfpipe

Simon Dumont, one of the world's most progressive freeskiers, might be onto something with his "cubed" halfpipe project, which was revealed recently with a performance at Squaw Valley USA. It entails the "cubing," or removing large sections from an Olympic-sized halfpipe. Gone is the security of a 22-foot wall for the duration of a routine. Gone, also, are points of reference for a skier who must pass 40 feet above ice while performing acrobatics between sections. To be sure, with a cubed halfpipe comes added drama and the need for skiers -- perhaps snowboarders, too -- to execute routines with pinpoint precision. Is this a glimpse into the sport's future and might we see a cubed halfpipe at a future X Games or even the Olympics? Time will tell but this will get a lot of people talking.
