| AboutStacy Peralta is a film director who may be more known for his history in skateboarding. Being one of the original Z-boys of Dogtown, he pushed the entire level of skateboarding with fellow teammates such as Jay Adams and Tony Alva. Stacy got involved with films early, not as a director, by skateboarding in the famous TV show, Charlie's Angels. In 1978, Stacy joined George Powell to take on skateboard company now referred to as "Powell-Peralta." Stacy left work at Powell-Peralta in 1992 to focus directly on directing. In 2001, he directed a documentary on the lives of the Dogtown Z-boys (this film won an award at the Sundance Film Festival). He also directed Riding Giants in 2004, a big wave surf film, and Crips and Bloods: Made in America in 2008. He helped write and put together the dramatic retelling of the Dogtown story in the 2005 movie, Lords of Dogtown. His background in skating and surfing has influenced his film work and he has worked for many movies with any skating or surfing involved.
