Steve is capable of beating big names like Mirra, Nyquist, and Wade, and he proved it at the Dew Tour in June '05 where he finished 2nd in a stacked rider field. He learned the 360 double tailwhip in February '05 and he is able to 720 any spine you put in front of him. His vert skills have grown leaps and bounds in the past year and he'll be flying high on the box with flip whips and huge flairs on the quarterpipes. He's young and he's a threat in park and dirt at any given contest. He is Steve McCann. Born and bred in Melbourne, Australia and a product of that country's numerous skateparks, Steve started making trips to the US at age 16. Since the start of 2004 Steve has landed on the podium at four out of five park comps. He currently he lives in Woodward, PA and helps teach kids how to become better riders. McCann is competing in both Park and Dirt at XG '01. From the age of five, he began gymnastics and spent many grueling hours in the following five years trying to juggle both that and his bike riding. At 10-years old, Steven decided to devote himself solely to his bike. He finished the 2001 CFB series ranked #5 in Park. Sponsors |
