"Uncle" Sunny is a Hawaiian surfing legend. He has an ASP World Title , and holds the record winning the Triple Crown five times. As powerful as they come, Sunny uses his frame to put it on rail like no one other. In big Haleiwa he is untouchable. Besides, professional surfer Sunny's other job titles include: union boss, company co-owner and father.

Recently Sunny ran into some problem with the IRS concerning contest earnings. He did some time, and was on house arrest, not allowed to leave California for six months. He was still able to train and surf, but had to wear an ankle device at all times. As part of his community service he coached the "hoale" boys over at Huntington Beach High School. He was recently let off house arrest and was able to return to Hawaii to compete in the Xcel Pro at Sunset Beach.
