TJ grew up in Vernon BC, Canada, between the Rockies and the West coast mountain range. He joined the Silver star freestyle program when he was 12 years old. They had a great air site commonly used for aerials, but instead, theircoaches built sick floaters. That's when he quit hockey and focused on skiing. His group of friends would watch ski movies and start trying out the tricks and own styles. They ended up learning a lot.

Since then, the stuff they had seen in the ski videos became real and he has skiied with his idols and has traveled to some of the best ski spots in the world. TJ's summers now consist of skiing in New Zealand and coaching in Whistler. In winter time, TJ is now going cat & Heli skiing, and competing on the sickest slopestyle courses and jumps. Videos were insane this year.
