| I Ride Park City: Trick Tips - Air to Fakie Snowboarder Magazine's I Ride Park City -Trick Tips drops into the halfpipe this week with none other than Olympic gold medalist Torah Bright. The Australian halfpipe connoisseur demonstrates the classic but stylish air-to-fakie-- an essential trick for throwing down in the pipe. To watch the latest trick tip and perfect your air-to-fakie head HERE. Channels: Snow 2012 Winter X Games women's halfpipe: Chasing down the unbeatable Kelly ClarkDifferent year, same story. With the women's superpipe finals slated to take place tonight at Winter X Games 16, everyone's eyes are set on the unstoppable Kelly Clark. It's somewhat intimidating for the other ladies heading into the competition when they're aware that the person they're aiming to beat has won the last 12 contests she's competed in. A pretty legit feat to brag about. Kelly Clark, most recently recognized for being the first and only female so far to stomp a 1080 in the halfpipe, is considered to be a certified halfpipe master. She has continuously upped the ante for all ladies alike riding halfpipe as well as for women's snowboarding as a whole. However, this time around the girls are catching onto Kelly's game and are pushing themselves to give Clark a run for her money. Challenging Clark tonight will be a stacked field of contenders, consisting of Gretchen Bleiler, Torah Bright, Hannah Teter, Maddy Schaffrick, Elena Hight, Kaitlyn Farrington, and Xuetong Cai. All these riders are capable of putting down a technical and solid run however, if Kelly Clark brings her A-game, which she most always does, it will be pretty difficult to out-ride her in this discipline. So, who will it be? A heavily experienced group of riders all hungry for the win will provide an intense snowboard battle. Talks of new tricks being laid out over the 22-foot halfpipe from--which should come as no surprise--Clark have begun to circulate. However, not to be outdone, Gretchen Bleiler has thrown her name into the mix, and will be one to watch for, as she nearly edged out Clark at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge, CO. If this happens, pipe finals will be one of the most progressive women's events we've ever seen. But when there's a gold medal up for grabs with every girl thinking it would look best on them, prior statistics can be meaningless. So who will rise up and end Clark's run of domination? Or will Clark continue her strong run and stomp the competition? Find out tonight when the women's snowboard pipe finals commence at 9 pm. Every edit that results from any time spent in places like Revelstoke and Retallack are enough to make any shredder combust with jealousy. Cue the Roxy team with the latest video of the 2011/12 season of Roxy Refreshments. Torah Bright, Erin Comstock, Kjersti Buaas, and Aimee Fuller have endless powder fields all to themselves on this team trip to BC. The ladies rode under dumping skies and also scored some perfect bluebird days. I'd say that's a successful trip to Canada. Channels: Snow Torah Bright with Roxy in New YorkDeemed snowboarding's "golden girl", Torah Bright hits up the Big Apple during the Quiksilver Pro alongside the Roxy surf athletes. If you didn't know already (you may be living under a rock), this Aussie hucks in the halfpipe, backcountry, and park and happens to win gold medals along the way. Recently married, constantly pushing and progressing women's snowboarding, and always with a gigantic grin on her face - we think it's apparent how she got her nick name. In New York City, Torah talks about her trip, surfers versus snowboarders, the premiere of Art of Flight, and hopefully earning a place in one of Travis Rice's future films. If she stays on this track, we're thinking that there's a good chance of that going down. Torah Bright at Euro X Games, but will she compete?Olympic Gold medalist, Torah Bright hasn't competed in any snowboard event since she made history over a year ago in Vancouver at the the Winter Olympics. ![]() She was slated to compete in slopestyle at this year's X Games in Aspen, but pulled out of the event last minute claiming she wasn't quite ready for the event. Now Torah is at the European X Games in Tignes France and has been fulfilling as many media obligations as possible. She's been running around doing interviews, snapping photos with fans, and has even taking a few cruiser laps down the face of Tignes Le Claret. Women's Halfpipe Finals are set to go down today and Torah's name is mysteriously missing from the start list. Bright had mentioned earlier this year that she wanted to focus on slopestyle, but after careful investigation, it appears that Bright isn't competing in slope at Euro X either. We hope Torah gets back on the competition train sooner than later, because at this point, it seems she's the only one that has a glimmer of hope of beating the currently unstoppable Kelly Clark. See what Torah Bright has been up to at Euro X Games. Channels: Snow | ||||||||||||
