Zac Kay has been snowboarding nearly half his life and turned a hobby into a passion. With solid results during the 2005 NorAm, Europa and South American Cup series, he got the nod form U.S. Snowboarding to step up to the World Cup in '06, but cemented his place in the sport by winning the '06 NorAm title.

It was a hugely successful season for Kay who, after 12 World Cup starts, pulled in his second best World Cup result (19th in Stoneham, CA). However, it was Kay's double victory as PGS and PSL national champion that topped off his 2008 perfectly.
"It means a lot to me to be the national champion. It was a goal of mine this year," Kay said. "I had a rough start to the year and I felt like I started riding stronger toward the end of the year and I'm just really happy to be able to achieve my goals. It gives me a lot of motivation for next year."

As a grom, his folks taught him how to ski, then good friend Ty Parks showed him the light at the age of 10. Due to a lack of freestyle terrain or even a freestyle scene at the local mountain, Zac and friend Daniel Hester started their own snowboard race team at the age of 13.
