The North Face Video Contest: Win a Trip to Whistler's Bear Back Lodge

By: Nate Hoppes

All expenses paid trips to the mecca for mountain biking don't come around everyday. But Bike Magazine and The North Face are collaborating on a custom video submission contest with the winner receiving an all expenses paid trip to Bear Back Lodge in Whistler. In addition, the winner receives a $500 North Face gift card and will be featured in Bike Magazine's September issue.

The prize is ridiculous and the submission process is simple. Submit a video clip of yourself or your buddies going huge on mountain bikes.

The top four videos will make it to the final round, where they will be judged by The North Face athlete Mike Hopkins, who will select a winner.

If you lack inspiration, try watching Strength in Numbers and Life Cycles, two of the most insane mountain biking films, which are sure to get the creative juices flowing.

Don't waste any time as the contest ends July 16.

See this link for further details.

Below is my personal submission for the contest...Okay, it's not me, it's Mike Montgomery at Cranworx but you get the idea!

Lotek's Craig Passero

By: Teddy Parker

I suppose you could say Lotek has been off the radar lately, and even that might be an understatement. However, Lotek isn't just a company. It's a circle of people and in the middle of it is Rich Hirsch, a person I shouldn't have to describe if you're a rider. Lotek thrives because people in that circle, such as Craig Passero, value that relationship more than anything, such as financial gain. Passero has always ridden for himself, even though he could probably ride his ass off and grab endorsements from big guys. This edit kinda sums that up, as he rides with friends and cameras happen to be recording...

Empire's Tony Cardona

By: Teddy Parker

I wasn't sure what Cardona was doing since leaving S&M. And I'm not sure if he's on CULT or just repping a brand he likes. I hope he's doing what all BMX riders need to remind themselves what to do, enjoy riding and ignore sponsors if you're not satisfied with them. From the looks of this video, he's at least got the enjoyment part right.

Florent Soulas on Fit

By: Teddy Parker

Florent went from Kink, correct me if I'm wrong, to Fit but he is still putting out extremely entertaining and creative videos. Hopefully Fit will put some extra support his way so he can make some more videos, travel, etc. Out of all the repetitive and drab videos on the internet, it's nice to see one that actually sparks my interest.

Volume's Matt Cordova

By: Teddy Parker

Looks like I'm going to have to bug Castillo about riding the new warehouse ramps, but then again I'd rather watch somebody like Matt Cordova actually put them to good use. Suppose I'll just bring the camera then, eh?
