2011 Red Bull Most Wanted Results

By: Teddy Parker

Austin, TX - October 29, 2011 - On Saturday, October 29th, 17 top regional BMX riders arrived in downtown Austin at Empire BMX on their own version of the steel horse and tracked down some of the most criminal tricks this side of the Rio Grande. In the end, Austin's own Aaron Ross landed the most valuable trick, the Gap to Firecracker on the Double Set, winning $600 prize bounty.

Red Bull Most Wanted, based on the notorious bounty hunting of the Wild Wild West, led riders up alleys, down rails, over obstacles and through iconic ride spots around Austin where blood was shed in search of the most wanted BMX tricks.

Riders met up at the new Empire BMX warehouse, where X Games host Darryl Nau presented 40 bounties - or a specific BMX trick performed at a specific location - to be snatched off the wall one by one as riders made a mad dash to "capture" them and earn the amount of cash that each bounty was worth. A total of $4,000 was up for grabs. Aaron Ross, Jeremy Hrabal, and Corey Martinez completed the most difficult tricks, taking home the most bounty.

"Red Bull created an event that brought together a great crew of riders, allowing us to have fun while hitting some of the legendary spots Austin has to offer," said Red Bull athlete, and Nashville native, Corey Martinez.

Aaron Ross gave back to the BMX community with his bounty prize, donating his $600 to Nina Buitrago, pro-BMX athlete for her recent jaw surgery, Mike Tag, for his fight against cancer, and the Empire Ramp.

Following the competition, over 300 gathered at the infamous Ninth Street Trails for the 8th Annual Halloween Jam, which year after year shows appreciation to the locals that make Austin a hub for cultivating the BMX scene across the country.
