South African Olympic BMX rider Sifiso Nhlapo recently suffered a neck injury, fracturing two vertebrae in his neck. Though there are no signs of paralysis within the injury, it is a very serious one and hope this does not keep Sifiso off of his bike permanently.

Sifiso is said to have crashed coming out of a jum pand landing wrong. Sifiso BROKE HIS HELMET, the jaw section of it, upon landing. I hope the helmet served some purpose in preventing injury and wasn't just a light, skimpy helmet to reduce weight. Regardless, they believe he will race again, though not during this season of course.

Our best wishes out to Sifiso to a speedy recovery and another stunning comeback!

Good Luck! I tore my MCL during a qualifying moto at an NBL national 13 years ago, it took me years to get back on a bike! Its not easy coming back from an injury. I have never fully recovered and I lost my shot at turning pro, but I still ride everyday!
