Skill Level: Intermediate
Trail Type: 6 miles. Singletrack and doubletrack. 1100 feet elevation gain/loss.
In the quiet canyon, just over the ridge from the mtb center of Park City, Solitude maintains 20 miles of singletrack within its permit area. Kick off this ride in the Solitude Village for the best access to post-ride food and beer. From there, you’ll have to pedal up a very short hill and down a short single track underneath the Link chair to the start of Serenity.
This moderate singletrack climb weaves in and out of the forest for about 300 vertical feet in a mile, then continues to roll along until in intersects with Queen Bess. It’s worth hopping on Bess for a few hundred feet more of climbing and a short singletrack drop to Raptor Road, a fire road that will eventually turn into the two-track Summit trail. Summit will top you out at about 9,000 feet after a short burst of uphill.

From this point, you’ll have the option of pumping an aggressive, 800-foot climb up almost to the top of the Summit Chair, and taking the Solbright trail back down around the backside of Evergreen peak. Otherwise, this is your summit. Hop on Kruzr for the run down.
Kruzr is a down-only singletrack weaving through the resorts disk golf course for two and a half miles of mostly descending and an elevation loss of about 1,000 feet. Once down in the Village, if the resort is open (Summer 2012 operations start on June 22), you can grab pizza and beer at the Stonehaus, or drive down the canyon a short distance to the Silver Fork Lodge and grab a burger.
