Wild In The Parks Championships

In the current skate world of X Games and Dew Tours, it's always uplifting to see grassroots contests still going down, because you know skateboarding is from a DIY ( Do It Yourself) lineage. It's even more uplifting to see these comps not only go off, but reward the deserving standouts with a good amount of cheddah'. That's exactly what Volcom's been doing with their Wild in the Parks skate tour of contests throughout the world. Free entry, free food, tons of giveaways and cash money for the deserving.

It all came to a head this past weekend in Arizona for the $20, 000 WITP Championships at Rio Vista skatepark. With that much money on the line (it's a lot for unknown ams), the winners from areas all around showed up, and the shredfest began. Here's the full results:

14 & Under:
1st: Alec Majerus - $2,500
2nd: Alex Pellegino - $1,500
3rd: Phil Hansen - $1,000
4th: Ethan Loy - $750
5th: Wyatt Millhollan - $500
6th: Ryan Thompson
7th: Jace Torkelson

15 & Over:
