  • SK8R BOI style guide

Some places might be snowing over right now but in Southern California the most we got were a couple drops out of the sky. I'm going to let you in on some style secrets for the skater in LA or NY. Let's go!

When it comes to shoes, slim and simple is the way to go. Vans Authentics in black for $45.

In LA, we like winter because we can finally be fashionable in our jeans since summer is too hot, and in NY you're hoping to get away with a good pair of jeans in the winter if it's warm enough. Altamont Wilshire Basics for $60

To start off the first layer, we will go from thin to thick. Rogue Status Gunshow Script tee in whatever color for $30

If it's a colder LA night or a warmer NY night you can rock the Emerica Kirchart Light Weight Flannel for $50

Now, getting into the thicker second layer. Start with a KR3W Original Pullover Fleece in heather grey for $55

For a more complex jacket with pockets and zip, try the Element Modesto Fleece Jacket in black for $80

If it's really cold and you want the thick, fur jacket, CCS Reversible Headphone Jacket in black/white for $100

You always need a few accessories. In skateboarding, you have to have a form of headwear and eyewear. Only exceptions are if you have amazing hair or no ears... KR3W Chad Muska Shades in white for $30

For your dome piece... a DGK Eyes New Era cap will turn some head. Maybe not in a good way... $37

And last but NEVER least, your handy dandy... BELT (Mr. Lacy Flatties in white) for a whopping $3

  • BE IN A VIDEO WITH THE GOAT

The Goat and Occasional Others featuring Baker crew members: Adrew Reynolds, Shane Hyel, Kevin "Spanky" Long and Beagle invite you to come by, get drunk, and have your shitty mug in their newest video. It's set to go down tomorrow in Hollywood, so if you're in the area check it out.

One time I went to one of these we'll supply the beer, just show up, and be in one of our video deals. It was for a band that I would later find out was named the Blowing Fags (they had horns in their band, were from England, and loved cigarettes). Well anyway, I got my drink on, and soon became the star of the Blowing Fags newest video. They later made tee shirts with my face on them that said "The Biggest Fag," and since I signed the waver there was nothing I could do, not that's there's anything wrong with being "The Biggest Fag." They got big in Japan and soon all of Japan knew me as that. It wasn't that bad though, chicks dig dudes who are comfortable with their sexuality.

This never happened. Just be careful if you go anywhere and there's free beer and cameras rolling.

  • Altamont's New Collaboration

The Boss has some new shit for ya!

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - October 13, 2008

ALTAMONT x MIKE JONES x MIKHAIL BORTNIK

Los Angeles, CA - For the Holiday 2008 season, Altamont has aligned with Mike Jones and Mikhail Bortnik for an eerie collaboration of t-shirts based on the panic and shock of horror pictures and the merciless existence of street thugs.

Applying his sh*t-kicking Midwest upbringing to the no-nonsense approach of the east coast, Brooklyn based artist Mike Jones has subtly infiltrated the apparel world with his bold graphic style. His clients include Mishka NYC, Mighty Healthy, Reason, Beautiful Decay, SHQ, Mad Decent, Kid Robot and now Altamont. Mike' (s graphic work embodies a diverse array of styles and draws on his fondness for crass humor, T & A, loud music and cartoon mutants. Currently, he can be found drawing pictures, drinking beer and keeping it thrill.

Mikhail was born in 1978 in the former Soviet Union Republic of the Ukraine. At the age of one, his family left their country of birth for Brooklyn, New York. Due to limited resources and permission, he had to be smuggled out of the U.S.S.R. in a suitcase. Mikhail has done art & design work for Marvel Comics, advertising and children's book publishing before founding Mishka NYC in 2003. He is currently the co-owner and creative director at Mishka and still lives in Brooklyn.

Mikhail found Mike Jones in the back hills of the Midwest in 2005. Since then, Mike has collaborated with Mikhail on the creative side of Mishka NYC. The two have become a unique design force that others try to emulate. They continue to surprise the ' street wear' market with their creative genius.
