Turns out the guy had a real hum-dinger, scoring standout performances during the two biggest swells of the season in Tahiti and Fiji, swells which will be talked about for a long time to come. The fiji swell was enough to keep Kelly Slater out J-Bay, and the Tahiti swell so big they had to call off the contest. Easily the biggest Cloudbreak and Teahupoo ever surfed, and Alex nabbed bombs on both days. Respect.
