Imagine doing a back flip. Now imagine doing a back flip in 105-degree weather. Now imagine doing a back flip in 105-degree weather in the heart of Las Vegas. It seems but only a dream, right? Well this was also the dream of Coors Light and Caesars Palace. With the help of Rezin Marketing and the boys at Galvanic Design that dream became a reality last weekend at the first annual Caesars Palace "Cold Front" event.

What better way to celebrate independence weekend than a ski and snowboard big air event in the Caesars Palace Roman Plaza to launch Coors Light's newest product, the Silver Bullet Aluminum Pint. The outdoor Roman Plaza was transformed into a four-story big air exhibition with live music provided by Las Vegas' own Imagine Dragon, an ice lounge to escape the blistering heat, and of course, cold, refreshing Coors Light. Riders were hyped, the crew was stoked and the crowd was flabbergasted as 100 tons of ice was trucked-in from California to be blown all over the Caesars Palace Roman Plaza as temperatures soared over 105 degrees.



The brightest up-and-coming snowboarders and skiers traveled from all over to be a part of the unimaginable two-day event. As riders began arriving, astonished looks washed over their faces as they realized that the event was actually going to happen. The concept of snow, 100-degree weather and a big air exhibition just didn't seem feasible. The event kicked off with riders racing to the top, competing to see who would drop first. As the first snowboarder clicked in, the crowd held their breath as he barreled down the ramp. After a perfectly executed method was stomped, the riders knew it was on. Rider after rider dropped-in, testing the jump to distinguish what tricks they would throw.



Jordan Basurto showed up ready to ride. His stylie 3's and stomped 5's were enough to get the crowd pumped. Meanwhile, Nate Cruise kicked off his first drops with a flawless laid-out back flip. The four-hour session was far from over, Mike and Eric Brokeoff rode like machines, stomping everything from Rodeo 5 and Cork 7's to 540's and 360's, scoring them both kisses from the beautiful Coors Light girls. Galvanic Design's own photographer Drew Diehl, strapped on his board and plummeted down the ramp, throwing a huge back flip followed by a Cork 5. Closing-in on a sold four hours of riding, the snowboarders wrapped up the first day with a nice train to the bottom.







After a few Coors Light's and a lot of lost dollars, the crew retreated to their hotel rooms, stoked to see what the second day would hold. Hotter and brighter than the previous, day two promised even more action as riders geared-up for this once in a lifetime opportunity. With an additional 50 tons of snow, the jump was built even bigger and landing longer.







As the sun faded and the Las Vegas lights illuminated the strip, mobs of people began to fill the Roman Plaza to catch a glimpse of this extraordinary event. The oohs and aahs of the 5,000+ crowd helped fuel the hearts of the riders, bringing out some of their best tricks. Jordan Basurto signaled to Galvanic Design's own Taylor Murray to hold the butt end of a rake up to pole-tap 540.





With a quick BOOM, the first firework exploded high above Caesars Palace and everything seemed to stop for a second. Heads turned to the sky to view the remarkable display of colors and flashes. Cody Clemons got the shot of the event with a smooth 180 with fireworks exploding over Caesars Palace.





Adrenaline pumping and high-fives flying, each trick seemed better than the previous. With the greatest fireworks display in America sending riders on a natural high, Justin Bursuto ended the crazy two-day event with a nice straight air over the crew from Rezin Marketing and Galvanic Design.
