The Tour is made up of five major events that take place over the course of five months, June through October. Beginning in 2009, the first two stops will focus on single sports (Skateboarding at Stop 1 and BMX at Stop 2), with the last three stops featuring all sports: skateboarding (park and vert), BMX (park, vert and dirt) and freestyle motocross. The Tour awards champions in the five disciplines with the Dew Cup at season's end based on a cumulative points system. There is $2.5 million in prize money - the largest in action sports - and an additional $1 million bonus pool based upon year-end standings. The Dew Tour is broadcast on NBC, MTV and USA Network, as well as distributed worldwide, in over 100 different countries! At each Dew Tour event there is also a live concert featuring top artists and a huge Festival with video gaming, BMX and Skate interactive courses, giveaways with tons of new products to try out, and the list goes on and on. You also have the opportunity to get autographs and meet your favorite athletes! More than 150 of the top action sports athletes in the world will return for the sixth season of the Dew Tour to compete for the highly coveted Dew Cup. Last year's 2009 Dew Cup champions include Jamie Bestwick (BMX Vert), Garrett Reynolds (BMX Park), Ryan Nyquist (BMX Dirt), Bucky Lasek (Skateboard Vert) and Chris Cole (Skateboard Park). In each discipline (SKATE & BMX), athletes who qualify into each event (Vert, Park or Dirt) receive points based on the Final results from that event. At the conclusion of each event, riders are awarded points corresponding to their final placing - and will be ranked on the current Dew Tour Rankings. Dew Tour Caught On Tape |
