It is majority owned by the three founding shapers Simon Anderson, Darren Handley and Murray Bourton. These world class shapers, along with up and coming shaper, Sparrow, have worked individually and collectively to grow their brands under the banner of Base.

Base is a specialized surfboard hardware company with a capability of manufacturing large numbers of finely tuned modern surfboards in order to keep pace with the growing world wide demand. The skill level of surfboard manufacturing in Australia is the best in the world, which is why Australian made boards, are recognized around the world as market leaders. We are also successfully combating the China imports by offering an affordable surfboard with premium performance, produced here in Australia.
