  • McCRank, An All-Around Shredder

    Rick McCrank
Rick McCrank is a quiet guy. He's soft spoken, doesn't drink, doesn't eat meat, and he's Canadian to boot. No Moosehead brews and Canadian bacon for this North of the Border dweller. All that ends though as soon as he steps on a skateboard, he'll shred the hell out of anything you give him, and he'll do it with some of the best style in the business. Rick's been in the game for years, and has the complete package: street, park, transition you name it, he can skate it, and he'll be the last to tell you. Plus, he has the illustrious title of being "The Most Canadian Rider On Girl," which is a pretty, pretty, pretty big deal, especially since Girl has another Canadian team rider named Rick as in Howard.

Besides being one those pros lucky enough to have built up enough of a reputation to still be doing it, he's a little bit of an undercover businessmen. He co-owns Momentum wheels, and owns Anti-Social skate shop up there in Vancuover. Rick, being the supporter of the arts that he is, even has a gallery at the shop to give creators somewhere to hang their creations, and over on its site a cool, artsy little blog, you should check it out.

Anyway, he's a little video of the one and only Rick McCrank putting on a transition clinic courtesy of eS Films:

  • eS Welcomes John Rattray

    Rattray On eS
Scottish slayer, John Rattray, will now be getting his skate on in eS footwear. Pronounced like "S" not E.S. I'm so tired of hearing people call the brand E.S. You see that accent mark above the "e" in their logo, that's telling you to say "S". Anyway, check out his Epicly Later'd below:

  • NYC SKATE WEEKEND

You definitely want to be in NYC from June 4th to the 7th. There are so many events happening that it's been dubbed the "SKATEBOARD WEEKEND."

    Here's the schedule:

Thursday: Start the weekend off a little early and watch the world premier of Zoo York's State of Mind. The location will be posted on their blog in the near future.

Friday: I don't want hear anyone complaining that they are too hungover from the Zoo party, because5Boro is hosting its 13 Year Annivesary Party. It starts at 7 and is at 15 Watts Street on the 2nd Floor.

Saturday: OK, now that we got the partying over with, everyone should head to the Banks for the " Back to the Banks" skate jam. Enter one or all of the four best trick contests, or rip all day and win the overall MVP prize. Thousands in cash and prizes are up for grabs.

After shredding the Banks, you'll probably be pretty thirsty. No worries, just cruise over to Bobby Worrest's eS Footwear and Apperal Launch Party. Don't have too many cold ones though because you want to be fresh for tomorrow.

Sunday: Finish off your weekend under the Manhattan bridge with Red Bull's Manny Mania. This contest gets better and better each year. So don't miss it.
