  • Fit Bike Co's New Brand Manager: Ben Ward

About two months ago, Ben Ward parted ways with Odyssey after a good five years with them. He had ideas to work for another brand and finally found a home at Fit Bike Co. Ben Ward is a great mind and will definitely aid Fit Bike Co in reworking their company after losing so much to Cult. It's a new beginning and I can't wait to see where Ben takes Fit.

  • Fit Trippin' East Coastin'

Even though some people facepalmed the disbanding of the Fit team, some people cheered it on. I don't really care, but the fact of the matter is the upcoming East Coast trip for Fit involves Mike Aitken, Brian Foster, Van Homan, Justin Inman, Nick Tellez, and Destry Williams. Yeah, there are some young guys in there, but other than that we have a masters list here. And Aitken is back to tripping with the team! How stoked is he? They're coming to a town near you, so get at it...

Live in New Jersey? They'll be at Ed's June 19, 2x4 June 20, and Planet Bike June 22. Live in Pennsylvania? They'll be at Action Wheels June 23 and Round Two June 25. Get some!

  • Mike Aitken Interview (S4 Content)

The most difficult part about writing this was choosing the images, but I stuck with what's most important to Mikey. His boy. Scroll down for the interview...

The new S4 frame is out now (ish) and looking slick. What did you want to see out of the latest version of your frame?
A little wider space in between the top & down tube more like the S2. Moved the brake mounts so they actually work, not that anyone cares about brakes, haha. Just gave her more of that Bitchin' Camaro look.

You also have the S4 stem coming out. Big, chunky, trails, what older stems inspired this classic-looking gooseneck?
I used to run the challenger stem but the cap would crack so what you would end up using would be the only other great stem cap the redneck, so it looks a little odd, but I love the look, it's what a lot of the trail guys would run.

You have signature shoes, shirts, seats, tires, stems, frames that all sell well. What do you think captures the riders about your signature products?
The companies I ride for make it great, they don't want to make sh!t. So you end up with the greatest... I think!

People have been more and more amped as your recovery progresses. How did it feel to get back into Heath Pinter's trails with all your friends?
It felt great; it was frustrating though because my mind is in the same place as it was before the crash, so when I get back on a bike it's a reminder of where I really am.

Thanks for the time, but one last thing. Do you have any advice for the kiddies going big on their bikes regarding safety gear and such?
It's a little piece of plastic that saves you through going through a lot of drama.... Not too mention the medical bills, so you'll have a little extra change too.. Haha, Go Ride!

The DK team was dominating this year's Simpel Session. Bezanson in first. Banana sandwich in second. BK just killing it in general.
