Gallaz footwear was founded in 2000 as the first ever line of skate shoes created specifically for women. Although girls have been skateboarding as long as guys have, the late 1990's saw a huge resurgence of interest in the sport by females. Globe is the parent company of Gallaz and producers of the international surf and skate brand of the same name. Globe responded to this new movement by creating a unique skate shoe specifically fitted to a womans foot.
