The goal of the KTM group is the market leadership in the racing oriented off-road segment and the expansion into the sportive on-road segment.

Until December 2004 KTM Power Sports AG held a 38,3% of the KTM group. 48,9% were owned by the Equity fond BC Partners, 10,8% held the Hofer Private Foundation. Moreover, KTM Power Sports AG owned more than 25% of the fire-equipment producer Rosenbauer International AG.

After the successful acquisition of the interest BC Partners held in KTM (48.9%) in December 2004, which was mainly financed through the new issue of 1.9 million shares in the amount of € 57 million, the opportunity has opened up for KTM Power Sports AG to bring in the remaining 10.8% shares Hofer Private Foundation held in the KTM Group. Since December 1, 2004 the KTM Group is fully consolidated.
