  • Team Liberty is down under #3

    By Dylan Natale

After another day of rain and snow, the clouds disappeared, ushering in a two-day window to get back on the snow. Joe Shuster spent the next few afternoons sessioning the massive One Hit Wonder jump with the world's best, laying down trick after trick in hopes of winning the $10,000 purse. Online voting starts any day now so go on now and cast your vote.

Kyler Cooley, Simon Blondel and I made the most of the sunshine as well, exploring some Thredbo sidecountry one day. We also talked ourselves into a river gap that Perisher Ski Area had pushed up for a few Aussie snowboarders and Transfer Magazine. The chilly water and short landing made for a few nervous speed checks, but once the speed was dialed the gap was one of the funnest days we had.

  • Team Liberty is down under #2

(Ed's note: Joe Schuster, Kyler Cooley and Dylan Natale are Down Under on a Team Liberty trip. See installment #1 HERE.)

After saying our goodbyes to New South Wales' beaches and kangaroos, Joe, Kyler, Simon, and I packed the cars and headed inland to the quiet town of Jindabyne at the base of the Snowy Mountains. We arrived to a couple days of bluebird skies and made the most of it, spending a day in Perisher Ski Area's well maintained park, as well as a day in the Guthega backcountry.

Perisher, Australia's biggest ski area, offered up some good training for Joe, who will be competing in the One Hit Wonder Down Under later this week, while Kyler and I were stoked to see what the Australian backcountry had in store for the BC Boys. After a walk through the bush and navigating a frothing creek, the sun warmed the snow enough to have some fun and get a few shots.
