Photos: Darcy Bacha Words: Taylor Murray For the full photo gallery click HERE! ![]() If you attended the seventh stop of the Campus Rail Jam Tour at the University of Nevada, congratulations, you are hardcore. Anyone who is down to shred in 70 mph winds, sleet, and then a heat wave is A-OK in our book. You may think that living in such close proximity to Tahoe's finest ski zones would turn these kids into spoiled shredders, but you would be sadly mistaken. The Reno/Tahoe snow scene has proven that they will ride anything, anytime, anywhere. When the winds began to lift tents off the ground, it was unclear whether the university was going to allow the event to happen. Girls were screaming, boys were laughing, and university administration was scratching their heads. After much deliberation (and following all the proper safety precautions, of course) the faculty gave the Galvanic crew a big thumbs up, and the riders headed to the top. Despite the apocalyptic weather and poor snow conditions the riding was sick and spirits were high. ![]() ![]() ![]() The NV two-plankers didn't seem too phased by the weather, sporting a go-for-broke attitude all day long. While many fell to the wrath of the setup, a few soldiers made it out unscathed. Scott Pollman has competed in Tour events in the past, and you could definitely tell by the way he rode. Scott finished in a respectable third place and took home a bunch of swag from the Tour partners. Jed Kravitz finished number two and walked away with some Bonfire outerwear. Bringing home the top spot was Finn Anderson, slaying the rails and woo-ing the ladies. Finn earned some new skis from Coreupt and big wad of cash for his fancy footwork. ![]() (L-R) 2nd place - Jed Kravitz, 1st place - Finn Anderson, 3rd place - Scott Pollman The skier ladies put on quite a show for the UNR crowd. Many took slam after slam in hopes of impressing the judges. At the end of the day, bruised and happy to be alive, it was Ali Agee in third followed by Lena Decresenzo in second. Toughing it out and throwing it all on the line was Lea Moser, taking the cake and new pair of Coreupt skis. ![]() (L-R) 2nd place - Lena Decresenzo, 1st place - Lea Moser, 3rd place - Ali Agee ![]() ![]() At the end of the day it was Tahoe's own, Dakota Whitaker who took home the repeat win for the male snowboarders. Dakota's effortless presses and fluid style were just too clean for the judges to deny. Dakota scooped up some cash, Celsius boots, and a sick new Salomon snowboard for his efforts. Landing in second was Sawyer Dean, with insane combos on the rainbow box and smooth spins over the gap. Sawyer walked away with some Bonfire outerwear and a custom snowboard from Ford. Rounding out the pack was Alex Hereford, finishing in a very respectable third place and taking home a bunch of product along with a CRJT x Neff collabo hat after an array of swivels and spins on all three features. Congrats boys! ![]() (L-R) 2nd place - Sawyer Dean, 1st place - Dakota Whitaker, 3rd place - Alex Hereford ![]() As for the ladies, it was Fancy Rutherford landing in third, followed by Christine Savage in second. Christine filled her car with a new custom snowboard from Ford along with some Roxy goodies. First place finisher, Cristi Nasser, impressed judges all day taking home the "W" and a new Banana Traction board from Roxy along Celsius boots and some cash money. ![]() (L-R) 2nd place - Christine Savage, 1st place - Cristi Nasser, 3rd place - Fancy Rutherford A huge thanks to everyone who came out to brave the weather and support the scene! Big ups to Cricket Wireless and Ford for making the Tour possible and spreading the shred across the nation! Now that Reno is history, the Galvanic Crew has set sail for the eighth stop of the Tour in San Diego, CA on Friday, May 7th. Keep your eyes peeled for event updates and news from the open road! ![]() Channels: Snow Event Recap: CRJT Cruises To The Desert![]() Photo Courtesy of CampusRailJamTour.com After a full day of lurking on underage college girls, taking in some warm desert air, and skating some available (non snow covered) concrete, the Campus Rail Jam Tour crew got their first stop under way at the University of Arizona, located in Tuscon, AZ. Fully equipped with a mini skate ramp to session, this rail jam was swarming with zonies (3,000 to be exact) that came to check out the scene.
