In 1983, a retail shop was started in Northern California, when the world of skateboarding was introduced to plywood ramps and street-style skating. Sessions opened as the first dedicated snowboard-only retail outlet in the U.S. while focused on the sport of snowboarding, Sessions also placed itself at the cutting edge of music and skateboard culture by building a popular punk-rock mail order retail business who's catalogs were inserted in Alternative Press and Spin magazine, starting a vinyl music label and by becoming an active sponsor of key snowboarding and skateboarding events at the widely known Lake Tahoe, CA snow venues and San Jose CA. skateboard parks.
