The third edit has already arrived and things get a little hairy. Nate Farrell and Shane Pospisil show up to ride and are greeted with deep fluffy powder however, Nate encounters a few issues once he's out there. See for yourself below: Prospecting Idaho Season Two: Episodes 1 & 2And into the Idaho backcountry we go. Again. Smith Optics' engaging web series "Prospecting Idaho" is back for another season with a whole different crew and episodes one and two debuted this week. Once more we experience what the Potato State has to offer (and it has a lot to offer) through the Smith crew and majorly talented rippers that they bring along for the ride. ![]() The first double dipping of episodes shows us a few different backcountry builds surrounded by blower snow and insanely fun lines and terrain. Austin Smith and Shayne Pospisil are the lone snowboarders in the first edits and are rolling with skiers Tim Durtschi, Cody Barnhill, and Tyler Ceccanti. It's apparent that the crew has sought out to have a majorly good time while still trying to push themselves and provide some impressive riding. The group of skiers session a gigantic step down and scare the crap out of themselves while Smith and Pospisil get after a tree gap and build a nice little booter. Of course, we are looking at flights to Idaho now. This series has the same effect as its first season and shows the ridiculous riding that Idaho provides. Stay tuned for more episodes. Produced by Cory Smith and Smith Optics. Edited by Mark Oliver. Channels: Snow Season two of Prospecting Idaho has arrived If the folks of Idaho (official term: Idahoans) thought that they could hide this jackpot of soft, sweet powder forever - they were sadly mistaken. After season one of Smith Optics' Prospecting Idaho hit the web world last year -- shredders high and low were packing their bags and ready to jet off to the Potato State. Scotty Lago and company shone a light that was hard to miss on the backcountry life of Idaho and all the glorious shredding that came with it. More powder slashes than anyone could ever ask for pour out of this series alongside a crew of serious snowboard talent getting after it in the ultimate backyard park of Smiley Creek Lodge. Skiers Bobby Brown, Tim Durtschi, and Tyler Ceccanti joined snowboarders Austin Smith, Iris Lazzareschi, Shayne Pospisil, Yancy Caldwell, Tim Humphreys for season two of Prospecting Idaho and they are going big. Produced by Smith Optics and Cory Smith, edited by Mark Oliver Words Smith Optics: What do you get when you take one of the worlds leading eyewear companies, combine it with a 900 acre backcountry training facility, and sprinkle in some of the worlds best skiers and snowboarders? Well, Prospecting Idaho of course! Deep in the wilderness of Idaho's Sawtooth Range lies Smiley Creek Lodge, a small wilderness lodge/restaurant/outfitter. It is here that Smith has created the ultimate backyard park. 900 acres of former mining property make up what can only be described as every snow slider's dream come true. The tailing piles from the mine make perfect landings for big kickers, kickers built by a big, bad Prinoth Snowcat. The upper "cirque" area has cliff drops, cornices, and windlips. The trees are thick and deep, and the back side has a seemingly endless expanse of sunny pow fields. What more could one ask for? How about an eight-person cat waiting at the bottom to zip you right back up to the top of the ridge. From the Mag: Smiley Creek Video Smiley Creek SojournBy: Eddie Wall It was about noon when I got a phone call from Cory Smith at Smith Optics, asking if I wanted to come to Idaho to ride some powder. He also mentioned something about having a snowcat out in the backcountry to build us jumps. He didn't go into too much detail, but said it would be worth the trip. Smith brought in Pete Colombo to build their first private backcountry park and some of the pro's that came out to play included Scotty Lago, Eddie Wall, Scott Stevens and some local serious shredders. Be sure to check out all 8. I know I will. Prospecting Idaho: Episode #1 from smith optics on Vimeo. * "Prospecting Idaho" edited by Mark "Beav" Oliver, Cory Smith, Lane Power and Dan Moses. |
