Surface was founded in 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah by Mike Schneider to filla voice in the twin tipped skiing segment.

They are located at the mouth of Big and Little Cottonwood canyons, home of the best snow and more progressive skiers in the world.

Surface is the most supportive of and committed to its dealers. Surface skis are being sold at retailers and specialty shops around the USA as well as foreign distribution in Asia and Europe.

Surface was started very non traditionally and required many sacrifices from those involved. Schneider wants people to view Surface as a b rand that they can relate to and be inspired by, not only on the snow, but in life.
