It’s hard to believe most surf and skate stores are owned or run by business people who have never surfed or skated. In fact, many of these stores are publicly owned by investors and controlled by their shareholders and board members. They could care less about the lifestyle; as long as you keep spending $, they’ll keep stamping out the same stores. Most are growing each year because, you the kids, are being spoon-fed the commercialism and have never grown up around a real shop. USS encourages you to support real Surf & Skate stores, who give back to the local community and are owned & run by surfers and skaters. Educate yourself, as it’s not that hard to tell the difference between the real Surf & Skate stores and the “wanna be” Mallisters.
