We first came across Sean Slobodan’s work thanks to a video of young Aussie surfer/skateboarder named Quincy Symonds.
In the vid, it’s clear that her dynamic personality (and love of Quarter Pounders) fascinated Slobodan just as much as her insane performance in the water — and he captured both.
Turns out, Quincy’s video was just the tip of the proverbial iceberg with the filmmaker and his team.
His Vimeo account alone holds two dozen videos covering a myriad of action sports. Surfing, rock-climbing, endurance running, skateboarding, and snowboarding are all given their due, and people are noticing.
Two of his more recent videos, “LOCAL” and “Focus: Portrait of a Runner”, were pegged as Vimeo Staff Picks and have each received more than 99,000 views, accolades that can only mean we’ll be seeing a lot more from him in the future.
Guys I’m stoked to say that we ended up winning the brainfarm skate video contest for our film LOCAL. @westoncolton and I are headed to the world premiere of #WeAreBlood! So pumped. Huge thanks to @brainfarm for the selection and thanks to everyone who voted! Shout out to my cousin @helivatefilms for his help with the project and also having the idea to enter the film into the contest in the first place.
